Roper Hospital’s Neurology & Spine Center encompasses a full array neurological services. Our board certified neurologists and neurosurgeons provide diagnosis and treatment for a variety of medical and surgical treatment options for disorders including stroke, seizures, back and neck problems, brain tumors, aneurysms, and other diseases or disorders of the brain and, spinal cord and nervous system. Roper Hospital is proud to be the only facility in South Carolina offering Cyberknife treatments. The Cyberknife Robotic Radiosurgery System is a non-invasive alternative to traditional surgery for the treatment of cancerous and non-cancerous tumors in the brain and spine.
Located on the 6th floor, the Neurology & Spine Center offers comprehensive services including the Neuro- Diagnostic Lab, dedicated state-the-art inpatient unit with 15 private rooms, and direct access to the hospital’s therapy gym where physical and occupational therapists provide the treatments necessary to optimize strength and mobility.
As a leader in stroke care, Roper Hospital became the first Primary Stroke Center in the Low-Country in 2006. Our stroke team continues to provide individualized, expert care and has been recognized by the American Stroke Association with Bronze and Silver Achievement Awards (2007-2008), Gold Achievement Awards (2008-2010) and most recently the Gold Plus Award, the highest level of recognition for quality stroke patient care given by the American Stroke Association..
