The three most important components to pay attention to each time you are weighed are fat mass, fat free mass and total body water.
- Fat Mass: the amount of your weight that is body fat, in pounds. This is what you want to lose!
- Fat Free Mass: everything on your body that is not fat: bones, muscles, organs and water. You want to avoid losing fat free mass!
- Total Body Water: the amount of water in your body. You want to avoid losing total body water!
