Welcome to the wound care and prevention center. Wounds are usually considered chronic if healing has not taken place within four weeks. Using evidence based practice guidelines your care team will use a variety of means to allow your wound to heal. We use topical dressings that promote moist wound healing, numerous specialty products, compression therapy and negative pressure wound therapy which applies controlled, localized negative pressure to help uniformly draw wounds closed.
When is Specialized Wound Care Necessary?
A wound 30 days or older without signs of healing is considered chronic.
You have underlying problems that may delay healing such as, peripheral vascular disease, diabetes and advanced age.
