Marcelo Hochman, MD FACS is the Founder and Medical Director of the Hemangioma International Treatment Center and The Facial Surgery Center, both private practices headquartered in Charleston, SC.
Dr. Hochman has extensive experience in the management of vascular birthmarks and is double board certified in Head/Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has continuously been listed in "The Best Doctors in America" and recently listed in "America's Top Surgeons" in facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Hochman recently received the coveted "Order of The Palmetto" from South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford which is the highest honor that can be bestowed on an individual by the state for outstanding service. He is the editor/author of many publications including the Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America's "Vascular Birthmarks of the Head and Neck" and Journal of the American Medical Association's Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, "Evolving Trends in the Treatment of Vascular Birthmarks".
The doctor has been featured on "The Discovery Channel." He is a frequent contributor to the medical literature, and has been quoted/interviewed in Parents magazine, ePregnancy magazine, and Cosmetic Surgery Times as well as local, regional and national media outlets as a recognized expert on vascular birthmarks.
His interest and passion for treatment of vascular birthmarks initially stemmed from one of his three sons being born with one. His quest for information and treatment evolved over the ensuing 18 years to place him at the forefront of physicians involved with these lesions.
