HALOS (Helping And Lending Outreach Support)
HALOS provides assistance to abused and neglected children in Charleston County and their caregivers. Roper St. Francis Healthcare employees help during the annual Day of Caring by providing canvas bags with items that might be useful to a child who is being relocated from a dangerous situation. RSFH supplies the canvas bags and our staff decorates and fills them.
Unit Service Projects
Ortho/Neuro unit collected supplies for the “Teacher’s Closet” and “Hands for Christ”, and adopted angels from the angel tree.
The General Medicine unit, 6 East, participated in "Back Pack Buddies" and "No Bare Bottoms".
Nursing Conference Initiative collected and donated books for needy elementary schools in the Lowcountry.
The Surgical Intermediate Care Unit, 7HVT Buxton, has a Dragon Boat team to support cancer recovery.
Nurse Extern Program
The nurse extern program is a ten week summer program designed to provide a learning environment that fosters the development of nursing students’ skills, enhancing future success in nursing. This program is for current nursing students to help them learn to function on a unit as a part of the nursing team.
