Career development is supported through a multitude of resources. Orientation is individualized through the use of the Performance Based Development System (PBDS) as the new employee’s initial assessment guides the clinical coach to focus on specific competency needs.
The organization also supports continuing education and development through a tuition reimbursement program and through the RSFH Nursing Scholarship program.
An LPN to RN program is in place that allows the LPN staff member to maintain full time status and benefits while working only 16 hours per week during the last year of the ADN program. This program includes the cost of tuition and books.
Encouraging staff members to become certified in their specialty is also a priority for the organization. Funding is available to support review programs and materials, as well as the cost of the certification exam.
