Roper St. Francis Healthcare Announces New Staff
Roper St. Francis Healthcare is pleased to announce a new Vice President and three other new employees in its Finance, Case Management and Corporate Communications departments.
Steven Shapiro, M.D. has been named Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer of Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Shapiro had served as Interim CMO since June 2005 and Chief of Staff for Roper Hospital since 1999. He completed his undergraduate work at Rutgers College where he also received a Master’s of Science degree in Genetics. Shapiro earned his medical degree from MUSC. He lives on James Island.
Christopher Glenn, CPA, CFFA joins RSFH as Director of Finance. Previously he worked with the accounting firm of Gamble, Givens and Moody. Glenn is a graduate of the College of Charleston and Summerville High School. He lives in West Ashley.
Vanessa Jenkins has been named Director of Case Management. She comes to RSFH from Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, TX where she most recently worked as the Director of Clinical Effectiveness. She has more than 10 years of operational, managerial and clinical experience in acute care facilities, acute rehabilitation and psychiatric services. Jenkins graduated from Webster University. She lives in Summerville.
Merritt Dempsey joins the Corporate Communications Department as a Media Relations Manager. Dempsey worked as the morning television news anchor and medical reporter for NBC News-2. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dempsey lives in Mount Pleasant.
