Mount Pleasant Waterworks & Roper St. Francis To Unveil New Drinking Fountain, Host Health Fair May 12
Mount Pleasant Waterworks (MPW) and Roper St. Francis Healthcare (RSFH) today announced wonderful news! They have partnered to bring a new drinking fountain to Mount Pleasant. The water fountain will be located on Coleman Boulevard at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge, where it will benefit walkers, runners and bikers of all ages.
A special ribbon-cutting ceremony and mini health fair will be held Saturday, May 12 to mark the occasion. The public is invited to join this FREE celebration, which coincides with both National Drinking Water Week and National Hospital Week (May 6-12).
· The new fountain will be unveiled at 10 a.m. with Mayor Harry Hallman, Jr., MPW Chairman William Golighty and RSFH President and CEO David L. Dunlap officiating. At that time, the water will be turned on for the first time!
· A health fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon featuring health information, giveaways and screenings to include lung testing, blood pressure and stroke risk assessment.
“This is a great day and a great partnership,” said Dunlap. “We are thrilled to join with Mount Pleasant Waterworks to make this drinking fountain possible. We know it will greatly benefit the health and wellness of local residents as well as visitors to our area.”
“We can’t wait to see people enjoying a cold drink of water or filling their water bottles before or after exercising on the bridge!” added Golightly.
