Carolina Park Presents Donation to Roper St. Francis Healthcare: Donation provides key funding for Medicaid Navigator Program
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Carolina Park, a master-planned Mount Pleasant community, recently presented $7,500 to Roper St. Francis Healthcare to support its Medicaid Navigator Program. On hand to receive the donation from Carolina Park were John Sullivan, CEO of the new Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital; Father Terence Fleming, vice president of Mission for Roper St. Francis Healthcare; and Kathryn Harrison, coordinator of Mission community activity and education.
The Roper St. Francis Medicaid Navigator program assists Tri-county residents to access public healthcare programs such as Medicaid and Medicare Disability. The program ensures qualified residents are able to successfully apply for, and participate in, the appropriate Medicaid and disability programs in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
The donation from Carolina Park provides funding for part-time Medicaid Navigators in Mount Pleasant that will serve those families in need in the East Cooper area.
"There is a great need for services of this kind and by helping residents successfully access these support programs, families are able to find the care they need,” said Kathryn Harrison, at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. “We very much appreciate the support of Carolina Park and their continued outreach in the community.”
Added Walter Music of Carolina Park, “We are pleased to contribute to a program that helps our neighbors receive much needed assistance. The Medicaid process can often be complicated and confusing for families. The Medicaid Navigator program will help residents get the care they need and make for a healthier community.”
This donation marks the final donation in the second year of a five-year commitment made by Carolina Park to assist area service organizations that serve disadvantaged and/or minority individuals in Charleston County.
