The Lactation Center located at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital is the only full-service hospital-based lactation center in the Lowcountry. Our Lactation Center staff, including a full-time International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), are certified bra fitters and are available to answer breastfeeding questions and assist you with choosing a breastpump and other breastfeeding supplies to make your breastfeeding experience an enjoyable and convenient one. We offer a full line of Medela breast pumps and breastfeeding products for purchase or rental, and also offer nursing accessories such as nursing pillows, SlingLings baby carriers, and clothing for the nursing mother.
We provide services to breastfeeding families throughout the Lowcountry regardless of where you delivered your baby. Our goal is to provide professional evidence-based information in a relaxed atmosphere. Our Lactation Consultant is available in the hospital for assistance with getting breastfeeding off to a good start. Once you are discharged from the hospital, we are just a phone call away for support and information.
We also offer outpatient consultations for any difficulties that may arise, whether during the early weeks as you and your baby establish your nursing relationship or later as other situations arise such as returning to work or school.
