Invasive Diagnostic Procedures
Cardiac Catheterization
Left and Right Heart
Catheterizations are minimally invasive
procedures that your Cardiologist can use
to determine the presence of coronary artery
atherosclerosis (blockage), assess abnormalities
in the hearts muscle function (infarction
or cardiomyopathy), measure the intracardiac
pressures, and determine how well the heart
valves function. Based on these results,
treatment options will be discussed with
you by your physician.
