Electrophysiology Study (EPS)

An Electrophysiology Study is a minimally invasive procedure that your Cardiac Electrophysiologist (a cardiologist who is an expert in the electrical function of the heart) performs. EP studies are recordings of the heart’s electrical activity (heart rhythm) during stimulation that allow your physician to assess the electrical conduction system of the heart. Based on the results of this study many treatment options if necessary are available such as medications, cardiac ablation, pacemaker, internal cardiac defibrillator, or surgery.
