Since heart attacks often share some symptoms
with indigestion and
fatigue, it's not always clear when a person
is suffering one. While indigestion is usually
restricted to the stomach and abdomen, the
warning signs of a heart attack are less
localized and more varied.
Classic symptoms
- Squeezing
chest pain or pressure, tightness in chest
or recurring chest discomfort
- Shortness of breath
- Sweating
- Pain spreading to shoulders,
neck or arms
- More likely in women
- Indigestion or gas-like
pain
- Dizziness, nausea or vomiting
- Unexplained weakness,
fatigue
- Discomfort or pain between
the shoulder blades
- Sense of impending doom
If you think you are suffering
a heart attack, waste no time calling 911
and getting to the nearest emergency department.
