Richard Friedman
Charleston Orthopedics Associates
Dr. Richard Friedman is board certified
in Orthopedic Surgery and has been in practice
for 19 years.
He received his medical degree in 1980
from the University of Toronto Faculty of
Medicine and completed residencies in surgery
at Massachusetts General Hospital and in
orthopedic surgery at the Harvard Combined
Orthopedic Residency Program in Boston.
He also completed a clinical fellowship
in surgery at Johns Hopkins University School
of Medicine.
Dr. Friedman has a special interest in
shoulder and elbow replacements as well
as hip and knee replacements. He has published
numerous articles in journals including
New England Journal of Medicine, Orthopedic
Clinics of North America, and Journal of
Bone and Joint Surgery.
Dr. Friedman believes the most rewarding
part of being in practice is helping his
patients. In his spare time, he enjoys spending
time sailing, playing tennis and listening
to music.
