Breast Health Services

Breast health is an important concern for women of all ages. Breast cancer cannot be prevented, but if detected at an early stage it is 98 percent curable. The best way to detect breast cancer is with a combination of breast self-exams, mammography and physician examinations.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare can help with your personal breast health program. We provide educational materials and screenings instructing women on how to do breast self-exams. We also offer several diagnostic locations for mammograms. Call 843-402-5000 for scheduling. If you need a free physician referral call HealthLine at 843-402-CARE or 800-863-CARE.

Breast Cancer Screenings:

Women's Services is committed to helping women detect breast cancer as early as possible. Women's Services works with our Oncology department to provide community breast health programs to churches, community organizations and businesses.

Programs have three components which can be tailored to your group's specific needs. These components are: breast health education, clinical breast exams (performed by physicians and/or nurses) and breast cancer risk assessments. Our physicians and nurses offer guidance for follow-up if an abnormality is detected.
