Drug and Alcohol Screenings (urine, breath and blood)
Abuse of alcohol and drugs, at work or otherwise, seriously endangers the safety of employees, family members and the general public. Substance abuse creates a variety of workplace problems including increased injuries, increased absenteeism, increased health care and benefit costs, decreased morale, decreased productivity and a decline in the quality of products produced and services provided. Worksite Partners can help you integrate a drug testing program into your workplace, making it one piece of a comprehensive program designed to allow you to maximize your investment in personnel, while protecting your employees and your business.
Medical Review Officer (MRO) Services
The Medical Review Officer (MRO) is part of a drug-testing program that provides an expert on the drug testing industry. A certified MRO is a licensed physician who has specialized knowledge in a variety of areas including toxicology, drug testing rules and regulations and chemical dependency. The MRO's basic functions include reviewing, interpreting and reporting drug-testing results. On positive laboratory results, the MRO conducts an interview with the donor. The main goal of the interview is to determine if there is a legitimate alternative medical explanation for positive results.
Audiograms and Hearing Conservation Programs
Employers are required to protect their employees against the effects of excess noise exposure. This can be accomplished through a hearing conservation program. The need for a program should be established through noise monitoring. Programs must include baseline audiometric testing, annual testing and follow-up testing for a questionable threshold shift. Education regarding the effects of noise and hearing loss, along with training in the use of hearing protection devices is required annually. Worksite Partners can help Charleston County comply with all aspects of these OSHA requirements.
